Abstract

The centroid-shift method was applied to lifetime measurements using a pulsed beam. A time-centroid spectrum and a mean-life spectrum were created automatically with a minimum of human interference. The method is illustrated with the 98Mo(α, 3n)99Ru reaction, in which an isomeric state in 99Ru was found.
