Abstract

Notification is an essential stage in the litigation process. It is used to inform the parties of the content of a judicial document that requires them to take a certain action. The Jordanian Civil Procedure Code has adopted specific procedures that must be followed in a specific order and sequence for conducting the notification of judicial legal documents. In response to technological development, which requires facilitating litigation between parties, such as speeding up the litigation period, the Jordanian legislator has adopted an electronic notification service. This paper aims to highlight the use of this service following the rules enforced in Jordan, highlighting the definition of electronic notification, their justifications, and legal effect. This paper concluded that electronic notifications are authoritative by the Jordanian legislation, but the issue of regulating the electronic notifications requires amendments of some provisions of Civil Procedure Law and the relevant system.
