Abstract

Mixed findings of the impact of electronic integration (EI) innovation on firm performance have been found in the literature. This study makes a conceptual argument that EI innovation is related with greater performance in logistics enterprises, but conditioned on environmental uncertainty (dimensioned as environmental dynamism, heterogeneity, and hostility). Environmental heterogeneity and hostility are suggested to positively moderate the business value of EI innovation in logistics enterprises; while environmental dynamism has multiple impacts.
