Abstract
A unique electronically controlled fuel injection system, named ECI, has been jointly developed by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mikuni Kogyo Co., LTD. for 2.0-and 2.6-liter passenger-car gasoline engines.The system incorporates a vortex-shedding air-flow sensor, a single-point injection assembly and a microprocessor control unit.This paper presents descriptions of physical arrangement, components and control strategy of the ECI system.
