Abstract
The photochemical charge separation in photosystem I (PSI)(see (1) for a recent review), starting from the excited primary donor, P700 (a chlorophyll dimer), involves five membrane-bound electron acceptors: the primary acceptor Ao (chlorophyll a), a secondary acceptor A1 (presumably vitamin K1) and three iron sulfur centers, FX, FB and FA. FB and FA together probably constitute the terminal electron acceptor called P430.
