Abstract

Electron spin resonance spectra of VO 2+ ions in R 2SO 4B 2O 3ZnSO 4 system of glasses (R = Li, Na, K and Cs) have been studied. Spin-Hamiltonian parameters, the dipolar hyperfine parameters β 2 ∗2 and Δg‖/Δg⊥ have been evaluated. It was found that these parameters are independent of the alkali ion in the glass and the VO 2+ ion is in an octahedral coordination with tetragonal compression.
