Abstract

Complement-receptor-lymphocytes (CRL), cells capable of forming rosettes with sheep erythrocytes (E) complexed with anti-erythrocyte antibody (A) and complement (C) were compared with non-CRL with respect to fine structures and contact with EAC complexes. Observations were made upon rosettes formed by sensitized erythrocytes (EAC) with CRL from spleen and lymph node after 30 min of incubation at 37 ° c, upon CRL isolated from rosettes, and non-CRL from spleen and lymph nodes. Multiple contacts, both broad and point-like occurred between EAC and CRL. Small and medium-sized lymphocytes accounted for 98% of CRL from lymph nodes and 89% from spleen. Morphologically CRL from spleen and lymph nodes and non-CRL are not distinguishable.
