Abstract

Multiple ionization cross sections σ n of mercury (Hg–Hg n+ , n=3–7) have been investigated for electron impact energies ranging from 100 to 1000 eV using a time-of-flight apparatus. The present results extend to higher final charge-state the previously reported measurements. Our values are compared with available experimental and theoretical data from the literature.
