Abstract
The quantum approach for analyzing reflection electron loss spectroscopy data is developed for electrons with energy less than 500 eV. A theoretical expression for relative intensity of line corresponding to losses due to bulk plasmon excitations in non-monocristalline substance has been obtained. This expression is based on the idea of single elastic-inelastic scattering mechanism for the low-energy region. It is suitable for the investigations with angular resolution. For the line-width, corresponding to bulk plasmon excitation, satisfactory agreement with experimental data for polycrystalline Al has been obtained.
