Abstract

The ways of improving the mechanical properties of molybdenum at low temperatures are studied. Positive effects of electron-beam melting with an intermediate container (EBMIC) on the structure of molybdenum ingots, in particular, on refining from impurities and microstructure refinement are shown. The effect of EBMIC on the mechanical properties of molybdenum in the ductile-brittle transition temperature range is studied.
