Abstract

The intersection of electron terms of the ground state of molecule and of the autodetachment state of negative ion for complex symmetric molecules such as SF6 is analyzed. Simple theoretical models are used to analyze the measured parameters which characterize the electron attachment to SF6 and other complex molecules. As a result, the parameters of ultraslow electron attachment to an SF6 molecule are found for different values of vibrational temperature of the molecule. The parameters are given of the temperature dependence of the rate constant of electron attachment to a number of complex molecules.
