Abstract

This book is a revised version of the author's Electron Optical Applications in Material Science and represents a sustained effort on the part of one man to present, at postgraduate level, the whole of this demanding and wideranging subject which includes interalia electron and ion optics, transmission and electron microscopy, convergent beam diffraction, energy loss spectroscopy, secondary ion mass spectrometry and the dynamical theory of diffraction. The unified treatment makes the book a pleasure to read; the style is that of a course of advanced postgraduate lectures.
