Abstract

Piezoelectric sandwich structures are a fundamental construction in most piezoelectric devices. Accurately modeling their electro-mechanical response remains challenging due to complex coupling and interface phenomena. The Green’s function solution for electro-mechanical field of piezoelectric sandwich structures under a normal concentrated force, a basic case for common loadings, is derived using a new type of harmonic function and the Mirror Image Method. We investigate the distribution of the electro-mechanical field and the impact of material parameters and force direction on electromechanical components at the interfaces. This solution provides essential theoretical guidance for material selection and loading design in piezoelectric devices.
