Abstract

A theoretical method is presented for determining induced currents, and hence losses, in a rod of circular cross-section, which is one member of an arbitrary system of parallel conductors carrying alternating currents. The theory is a generalisation of one used by Butterworth in deriving the a.c. resistance of two parallel conductors with circular cross-sections.
