Abstract

Electroluminescence in thin films of the structure SnO 2-ZnS-Cu x S-ZnS:Mn-Al 2O 3-Al has been investigated. Electroluminescence spectrum, characteristic for Mn 2+ ions, is emitted from ZnS:Mn layer under reverse dc bias operation. The experimental results suggest that the excitation mechanism of Mn centres is due to the non radiative energy transfer from sensitizer to energy acceptor Mn 2+.
