Abstract

Electroless plating technique was used to deposit Ni-Zn-P alloy on low carbon steel surface. The optimal process conditions for the Ni-Zn-P deposition rate were determined and under which the bath remained stable and the maximum deposition rate reached 14.5×10-5mol/(cm2•h). The optimal technical conditions for the Ni-Zn-P alloy corrosion resistance performance were also determined and under which the ternary alloy obtained the longest corrosion time. The SEM image and XRD pattern showed that the deposited Ni-Zn-P coating exhibited good smoothness, high density, free of defects and was proven to be a mixture of inhomogeneous phase and nickel solid solution at plating state.
