Abstract

The binary alloy Fe 41Ni 59 cylindrical nanorods and Fe 32Ni 68 cylindrical nanotubes have been successfully synthesized by electrochemical deposition in porous polycarbonate membranes. The length and diameter of as-synthesized Fe 41Ni 59 nanorods and Fe 32Ni 68 nanotubes are 6–7 μm and 200 nm, respectively. The magnetic properties of the as-synthesized Fe 41Ni 59 nanorod and Fe 32Ni 68 nanotube arrays have been studied. From hysteresis loops, the nanorod and nanotube arrays have anisotropy with the easy magnetization along the direction of the arrays.
