Abstract

Nickel Oxide, Yttrium doped SnO2 and Y:SnO2–NiO nanocomposite were prepared by facile chemical precipitation approach. The XRD investigates the crystallite size, structure and lattice parameters. The morphology of samples and confirm the interplanar spacing of 0.34 nm (1 1 0) for SnO2 and 0.24 nm (1 1 1) for NiO were studied by using HRTEM. The present of elements and oxidation states have been analyzed by FT-IR and XPS. UV–visible spectrum exhibit the red shift in energy band gap and PL spectra show the enhanced intensity of blue emission. VSM exhibit the ferromagnetism at room temperature for Y:SnO2–NiO nanocomposite. Electrochemical behaviors were investigated by EIS at room temperature. The CV curves shows pseudo capacitive nature due to quasi rectangular shape was obtained. The synthesized nanocomposite has good electrochemical performance, optical and magnetic properties and it can be suitable material for energy storage applications.
