Abstract

An electrochemical method for determination of the thiourea and glue concentration in the industrial copper electrolyte has been developed. This method is based on changing of the copper cathode polarization potential. The amount of polarization potential change in the presence of glue and thiourea is not the sum of potential changes caused by the presence of each of those reagents separately. Thus, before determining the concentration of one component, the other component should be removed from the solution. Thiourea is removed by addition of H2O2 and glue—by hydrolysis at 60 °C for seven hours.
