Abstract
We present the results of electrochemical investigation of VT5 titanium alloy, 12Kh18N10T stainless steel, and the same type of steel with various wear-resistant coatings in solutions of acetylsalicylic acid (pH 2.6) and calcium gluconate (pH 6.8). Under the conditions of abrasive friction in technological media, the highest protective efficiency against electrochemical corrosion is exhibited by diamond-like carbon coatings whose electrochemical behavior is independent of the mechanical actions upon the surface.
