Abstract
In this work a detailed theoretical analysis of the parallel connection of two power Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs), including the self-heating effect, is presented. The analysis of the resulting third-order dynamic system reveals the possibility of inducing chaotic oscillations for suited choices of electrical parameters. The conditions determined by the theoretical analysis are confirmed by numerical simulations of the circuit with parameters reasonable for commercial BJTs.
