Abstract

This paper attempt to investigate the structural and electrical properties of the boron doped Samarium doped Ceria (SDC) electrolyte prepared by simple solid state reaction method. The prepared sample was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and impedance Spectroscopy for their composition, size, and electrical conductivity. In this present work, we are evaluating the electrical conductivity of the prepared electrolyte. The sintered pellet exhibits good surface morphology. The frequency dependence of dielectric properties is obtained from impedance spectroscopy studies. Results of analysis reveal that nanocrystalline codoped sample was successfully prepared at low processing temperature with good ionic conductivity suitable for solid oxide fuel cell applications
