Abstract

Polycrystalline Ba(Gd1/2Nb1/2)O3 was prepared using a hightemperature solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated the formation of a single-phase cubic structure having space group m Pm3 . AC impedance plots as a function of frequency at different temperatures were used to analyse the electrical behaviour of the sample, which indicated the negative temperature coefficient of resistance character. Complex impedance analysis targeted non-Debye type dielectric relaxation. Frequency dependent ac conductivity data obeyed Jonscher’s power law. The apparent activation energy was estimated to be 0.17 eV at 1
