Abstract

Abstract The structural, piezoelectric properties and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCFr) of Pb(Sb1/2Nb1/2)O3–Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3–Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 ceramics were investigated as a function of Sr substitution for Pb-site. With the increase of Sr substitution, Curie temperature was decreased and dielectric constant increased. As the Sr substitution, electromechanical coupling factor (kt, kt3) in the fundamental and third overtone thickness vibration mode were increased while the electromechanical coupling factor, kp in the planar type vibration mode decreased. Mechanical quality factor (Qmp, Qmt, Qmt3) showed the maximum value of 972, 569 and 468, respectively, at 2 mol% Sr. Also, TCFr of the planar vibration mode and third overtone thickness vibration mode showed small value of 22 ppm/°C at 2 mol% Sr and 0 ppm/°C at 5 mol% Sr, respectively.
