Abstract
The paper describes an alternative equivalent circuit based entirely on a consideration of cement paste microstructures and the potential conduction pathways have been identified : (i) continuous electrolyte-filled pores connecting the electrodes, (ii) discontinuous or blocked electrolyte-filled pores, (iii) hydration products, predominantly the hydrous C-S-H gel, and (iv) unreacted cement.
