Abstract
Pure and chlorine doped SnO 2 coatings are prepared using spray pyrolysis technique. The effect of chlorine doping on the electrical and optical properties of SnO 2 are studied and compared with other types of doping. The absorption coefficient data vs photon energy are analysed and interpreted in terms of direct and indirect allowed transitions. The electrical resistivity is minimum and the figure of merit is maximum for SnO 2 coatings doped with 0.4 wt% Cl.
