Abstract
Coherent Williams domain oscillations have been observed under AC excitation in a nematic with positive dielectric anisotropy. The special features of these oscillations are described and compared with those of similar oscillations observed recently under DC excitation in a nematic with negative dielectric anisotropy. In particular, it is brought out that such oscillations are not necessarily caused only by DC electric fields.
