Abstract
We have observed polarity dependent reversible and irreversible effects of applied electric fields on the tunnel characteristics of Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8+δ single crystal junctions. The characteristic times of the electric field-induced effects were of the order of several minutes whereas the equilibrium state recovery took several hours.
