Abstract

Electric productivity of magnetic fluid (MF) is discussed. Supposing the surfactant active is adhered magnetic particles when the electronic property is studied. And the studied MF is stable suspension. Considering the electric conductivity of solid magnetic particles (γ s ) and carrier liquid (γ l ) which is big. And the electric conductivity of MF is discussed when the voltage is pressed at the two ends of MF tube. In the discussions, the viscous force (f n ) of carrier and magnetic force (f m ) have an important action on the electric conductivity of MF. (A) Supposing γ s >> γ l , and the viscous force (f) is big enough. MF has a weak electric conducting ability. Supposing γ s >> γ l , and the viscous force f n is small. The particles could slip the leash of viscous force colliding each other to deliver electric energy. Then MF indicates relative good electric conductivity. Perhaps the weak agglomeration is appeared because the magnetic force generated by the electric current. (B) Supposing γ s « γ ι , and the electric conductivity of MF could not affected by viscous force f. The electric conductivity of MF may be dominated by the particles and carrier together. (C)Supposing y s l , the electric conductivity of MF may be dominated by carrier. The experiment on MF of water carrier and carboxyl group carrier (Fe 3 O 4 as the magnetic particles) in this paper could certify the rationality of discussion (A).
