Abstract

The complex perovskite (1-x)Sr(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3-xBiFeO3 (SFN-BFO, with x = 0 – 0.5) ceramics have been prepared using solid-state reaction method. Phase evolution in the SFN-BFO solid solution with increasing BiFeO3 content was observed by x-ray diffraction technique (XRD). Then, the dielectric characteristics have been investigated over a broad temperature (25–300 °C). All ceramics showed large dielectric constants. Moreover, leakage current characteristic of the ceramics was measured at room temperature under dc electric field. Finally, the magnetic characteristics were studied. Hysteresis measurements of SFN-BFO indicate that saturated and remnant magnetization were improved when the BiFeO3 content is increasing.
