Abstract

Objective: One of the strongest arguments for day 5 transfer at the blastocyst stage is the high clinical pregnancy and implantation rates with the transfer of just two embryos. The majority of IVF programs offer blastocyst stage transfer only to good prognosis patients with a high number of fertilized eggs, to avoid situations where no blastocysts are formed in vitro. The objective of this study was to determine if equivalent results could also be achieved with day 3 transfers and attention to day 3 embryo morphology.
