Abstract

This paper deals with the determination of the elastic field in two perfectly bonded orthotropic half-planes subjected to any body force distribution or local transformation. It is shown that within the class of elastic fields representable in terms of Fourier integrals, each isothermal solution for the composite plane is related in an invariant manner to the corresponding solution for the homogeneous plane. Full advantage of these relations can save considerable labour and prevent duplication of analysis.
