Abstract

We have investigated elastic moduli c 11 , c 12 and c 44 of La 0.83Sr 0.17MnO 3 in cubic phase using Rigid Ion Model (RIM) at temperature 212 K ≤ T ≤ 280 K . The elastic moduli computed by us show an anomalous behaviour with the variation of temperature. Our results on the elastic moduli for the temperature range 212 K ≤ T ≤ 280 K are in good agreement with resonant ultrasound spectroscopy measured data. Furthermore, we have reported the Specific heat at different temperature to examine the electron-lattice interaction of La 0.83Sr 0.17MnO 3. Besides, the results on cohesive and thermal properties are also discussed.
