Abstract

Three stable even germanium isotopes have been studied by means of elastic and inelastic scattering of 36 MeV alpha particles on 70,72,74Ge. The low-lying levels 0 1 +, 2 1 +, 3 1 −, 4 1 +, 2 2 + and 0 2 + were analysed by means of coupled-channels calculations in the framework of the vibrational (harmonic and anharmonic) model and the asymmetric rotor model (except 0 2 + and 3 1 −). The anharmonic vibrational model gives a better description of these levels in all three isotopes.
