Abstract

Abstract Differential cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of neutrons leading to the 2.230 (2 + ) and 5.007 MeV (3 - ) states were measured at an incident energy of 21.5 MeV. The neutron groups were observed by the pulsed-beam time-of-flight technique in the angular region 20°≦ θ lab ≦155°. The differential cross sections were analyzed in terms of the optical model and the coupled-channel theory. Fair description of the elastic and inelastic scattering cross sections was given by the direct reaction mechanism and the collective model.
