Abstract
Piezoelectric ceramics are rather exactly specified for small signal applications by the linear elastic, dielectric and piezo electric coefficients. However, an unambiguous characterization of ceramics, which are to be operated at high mechanical or electric power level, cannot be given by these means. There is still an urgent need to improve the characterization of piezoelectric ceramics.
