Abstract

The dif fi culties of assigning cultural af fi liation or temporality to archaeological items has led to archaeologists using complex technologies. In the present case, the manufacturing techniques of objects made from mollusks shells is examined using experimental archaeology and the analysis of evidence of working using scanning electron microscopy. This is of special interest for those collections which lack direct evidence of production.
