Abstract

This article presents an approach to the poblano carnival that takes place in Santa María Nenetzintla, a municipality of Acajete, Puebla, Mexico. The importance of this festivity lies in the sociocultural practices that connect the inhabitants of this place, with those who emigrated to other places in Mexico and the United States. All through a sense of belonging that brings them closer and brings them together. In the framework of a virtual ethnography, this study presents an analysis about the theme of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) as a vehicle that encourages continuous interaction between the sender and receiver, where the Facebook page: Carnaval Poblano en Mexicali, shows the importance of carnival as a tradition of Puebla that transcends physical or symbolic borders, and recalls the spaces, the town, and its inhabitants.
