Abstract

This work studies the documentation found in the Diocesan Historical Archive together with some marriage dispensation files. Dispensation packet number 396 contained denunciations for the thefts of movable goods, money and wax in the Nivariense Diocese during sixty-four years (1831-1895). This is an unpublished documentation, which allows us to know some of the objects stolen during the nineteenth century in the islands of Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera, leaving part of the religious artistic heritage of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
