Abstract

16 species of Ascomycetes collected in the Canary Islands are studied and described. Four genera are reported for first time in the archipelago: Kompsoscypha, Marcelleina, Plicaria and Sclerotinia (K. chudei, M. benkertii, P. carbonaria and S. sclerotiorum). Six species are new reports for the islands: Peziza succosa, Plectania ericae, Scutellinia crinita, Spathularia nigripes, Tricharina praecox and Trichophaea abundans. We widened the knowledge distribution of six species previously reported: Adelphella babingtonii, Plicaria endocarpoides (previously reported as Peziza endocarpoides), Pseudolachnea hispidula and Lamprospora maireana (La Gomera), Geopora clausa and Peziza succosella (Tenerife)
