Abstract
In 1927, in the context of triangular relations Argentina-Great Britain-United States, the Argentine big bourgeoisie split into two fractions, in relation to international alignment, the proposed capitalist development model and the consequent policies promoted by each sector. In this article, the fraction that has as its core the Argentine Industrial Union led by Luis Colombo, oriented towards the United States, is studied. This faction will engage in a hegemonic dispute with the other, whose center is the Argentine Rural Society, chaired by Luis A. Duhau, and to do so, it must quickly compose a new and lasting nationalist ideology, with the help of its organic intellectuals. The new ideology, which promises to make Argentina an industrial-military power with hegemony in the Southern Cone, is analyzed in this article, especially in the Colombo nuance. The organic intellectuals of the different sectors that make up the faction are also identified.
