Abstract
The Oriental Collection of the Royal Academy of History in Madrid has been traditionally identified with Pascual de Gayangos’ collection of Arabic and Aljamiado manuscripts. Nevertheless, the history and contents of the Oriental materials preserved at this institution are much richer and more complex than hitherto recognized. This essay provides a study of its formation and data regarding extant materials that have passed unnoticed.
