Abstract

Among the seals in the private collection of Olaf Sprenger, there is a Hittite stamp seal with a legend in Anatolian Hieroglyphic. The seal, which dates back to the Late Hittite Empire, belonged to a high official of the State, who beared the hier. title AURIGA, or even BONUS2+AURIGA. The name of the owner is not immediately evident, but arguments are brought for a reading Kukula(ya), based on a phonetic value kukula for the ideogram AVIS.
