Abstract

The academic programwas led by some of themost notable professors in each area of cosmetic dermatology worldwide. A rich variety of symposia, roundtable discussions, lectures, and workshops were organized. There were an amazing 3115 Congress participants, 423 of which were faculty. The Congress boasted 70 symposia, 10 sister society meetings, 7 courses, and 5 workshops, plus 1 consensus and forum each. Luminaries included Jean Bologna, New Haven, Connecticut, the Eugene J. Van Scott Lecturer, named in honor of Dr Van Scott's many contributions to dermatology, in general, and to cosmetic dermatology, in particular. Jean and Alastair Carruthers (Figure 3), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, presented the three master conferences. A total of 115 abstracts reflected on the diversity of the program that was presented in 14 sessions. There were 10 industrysponsored symposia. The IACD inaugurated the Edward L. Keyes Award for the best Resident Papers at this Eighth World Congress. The
