Abstract

Objective To appraise the survival quality of patients with long - enduring non - bed peritoneal dialysis ( CAPD), discuss the influence of the synchronizing health education to the CAPD patient family members on the patient quality of life. Methods 86 stable CAPD cases having received peritoneal dialysis for more than 3 months at home were selected. With the stochastic table law, divide them into the experimental group 44 cases and the control group 42 cases. The control group received the conventional peritoneal dialysis and nursing, while the experimental group, on the basis of that, also received the family nursing intervention, by means of the nurse regular family visit and telephone visit, once a week, each time ranging from 30 to 40 minutes for 6 months. Results The patient's quality of life in the experimental group is higher than that in the control group (P < 0. 05 ). In the same group, the overall quality of life in the experimental roup is higher than that before the intervention (P < 0. 05), there is statistical difference. The peritonitis incidence in the two groups is less than 1/24 per patient month, which is in accordance with literature report. Conclusion The synchronizing health educa-tion to the CAPD patient family members may enhance the patient and family member's knowledge index and the level of understanding, improve the patient quality of life.
