Abstract

Turbo chargers have established its place at diesel engines and are now capturing gasoline engines as well. Fatigue strength but first low oil consumption are important requirements for the use in modern automotive designs. Increased demands on mechanical development and on speed of response and on high loadings also keep the development departments busy. IAVF Antriebstechnik AG is developing and using continuously working measurement methods with high resolution for oil consumption and wear measurements. These methods e.g. can be performed simultaneously to save development time and to reduce the costs significantly.
