Abstract

The main aim of this work is to propose a feasible method for the extraction of lead from lead-containing zinc leaching residues. The effects of reaction time, reaction temperature, calcium chloride concentration, liquid-solid ratio, and pH studied. Which indicate that the calcium chloride concentration and the liquid-solid ratio have a significant influence on lead leaching rate and the optimized technological conditions obtained. The leaching rate of Pb is 85.78% under the optimum experimental conditions as follows: a reaction temperature of 45 °C, the reaction time of 120 min, the liquid-solid ratio of 6:1, calcium chloride concentration of 3.15 mol L−1, and the pH of leaching solution is 2. The kinetic study of the system indicates that the reaction rates of the conventional leaching controlled by diffusion, and the apparent activation energy was 17.59 KJ mol−1.
