Abstract

Abstract 2,2′-Dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl and 10,10′-dihydroxy-9,9′-biphenanthryl were resolved efficiently by complex formation with novel chiral host compounds derived from tartaric acid, (R,R)-(+)-2,3-dimethoxy-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylsuccinamide and (R,R)-(+)-N,N,N′,N′ -tetramethyl-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-trans-4,5-dicarboxamide, respectively. X-Ray crystal structure of these complexes was studied.
