Abstract

In this study, chitosan (CS)/hydroxyapatite (HAP) hybrid membrane was in situ prepared and applied for lysozyme (LZ) adsorption. Nano HAP particles in situ formed in CS matrix. LZ adsorption performance was studied by changing pH value, initial LZ concentration and adsorption time. Adsorption isotherms showed Freundlich adsorption isotherm provided better fit for CS/HAP hybrid membrane. Adsorption kinetic showed LZ adsorption on CS/HAP hybrid membrane was in agreement with the pseudo-first order kinetic model. CS/HAP hybrid membrane possessed high LZ adsorption and LZ adsorption capacity reached 203.9 mg/g. The hybrid membrane had high desorption capacity and recovery ability. The hybrid membrane maintained 94 % of its adsorption capacity and 93 % of its desorption at the fourth cycle of adsorption and desorption. The hybrid membrane provided new technology for the purification and separation of enzyme or protein by hybrid membrane with high recovery.
