Abstract
If combined with geometrical modeling by bilinear surfaces and higher order basis function for approximation of currents, the method of moments applied to the surface integral equations is very efficient in electromagnetic analysis of metallic and dielectric structures. Composite 3D structures can be easily represented as a combination of connected polygons. The paper presents general method for transformation (automated meshing) of such polygonal model into the model consisted of minimum possible number of connected convex quadrilaterals of acceptable shapes. The efficiency of the method is illustrated on typical example from microwave technique.
